IDENTIFY THE FOUR STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT ACCORDING TO
PIAGET
THE FOUR STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT ACCORDING TO
PIAGET ARE ,
•SENSORY MOTOR STAGE
•PREOPERATIONAL STAGE
•CONCRETE OPERATION STAGE
•FORMAL OPERATION STAGE

CLEARLY IDENTIFY THE AGE RANGE FOR EACH STAGE
THE AGE RANGE FOR EACH STAGES ARE:

STAGES

AGE RANGE

SENSORYMOTOR

1 ½ or 2 years
2 to 7 years
7 to 11 years
11+ years

PREOPERATIONAL
CONCRETE OPERATION
FORMAL OPERATION

DESCRIBE WHAT THE EXPECTED OUTCOME WILL BE AT EACH STAGE
AT STAGE ONE WHICH IS THE SENSORYMOTOR STAGE , THE CHILD THINK WITHOUT LANGUAGE AND ALSO THE BABY IS UNABLE TO CONSIDER EACH OTHERS NEEDS OR INTERST BECAUSE ITS NOT ABLE TO THINK LOGICALLY ON ITS OWN.THE MOST COMMON THING THAT THEY DO IS THEY ARE ABLE TO SENSE OBJECT THAT IS WHEN AN OBJECT IS TAKEN FROM THEIR SIGHT THEY ACT AS IF THE OBJECT HAS CEASED TO EXIST AND ALSO NOT ABLE TO REMEMBER THINGS.

AT STAGE TWO WHICH IS THE PREOPERATIONAL STAGE , THE CHID IS ABLE TO USE WORDS TO COMMUNICATE BUT DOES NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY SAY. ALSO THEY TURN TO CONSIDER THINGS FROM THEIR OWN POINT OF VIEW AND ALSO BELIEVE THAT EVERYTHING THAT EXIST HAS SOME KIND OF CONCIOUSNESS. AN EXAMPLE BY PIAGET IS , CHILDREN TURN TO BELIEVE THAT A CAR CANNOT SPART BECAUSE ITS TIRED OR WEAK. AT THIS POINT ALSO THEY ARE ABLE TO IDENTIFY OBJECTS BY A SINGLE FEATURE.

AT THIRD STAGE WHICH IS THE CONCRETE OPERATION STAGE THEIR THAUGHT BECOME MORE MATURE AND”ADULT LIKE” . THEY ARE ABLE TO DIFFERENCIATE BETWEEN OBJECTS AND THINGS. THEY ARE ALSO ABLE TO IDENTIFY THINGS EASILY EVEN IN A LARGE AMOUNT.

AT FOURTH STAGE WHICH IS THE FORMAL OPERATION STAGE THE CHILD IS AN ADOLESCENT
NOW AND
ITS ABLE TO SOLVE PROBLEMS THROUGH LOGICAL
REASONING. ALSO AT THIS STAGE THE CHID IS ABLE TO OPERATE LOGICALLY ON SYMBOLS AND INFORMATION THAT DO NOT NECCESSARILY REFER TO OBJECTS AND

CONSIDER ARES OF LANGUAGE
DEVELOPMENT AND DOES THESE CO EXIST
WITH INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT?
CHILDREN ARE NOT LITTLE ADULTS UNTIL THEY REACH
ABOUT CERTAIN AGE, SO THEY ARE NOT CAPABLE OF
REASONING
AS ADULT. SO THESE CHILDREN USE
“CONCRETE” THINKING, EXAMPLE WHICH IS BLOCKS OR
FINGERS TO HELP THEM COUNT. AND ALSO EARLY
ADOLESCENT CHILDREN DEVELOP MORE THROUGH CONCRETE
THINKING .
