Africa has many different beautiful islands. | |The continent is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea, and is divided into four parts north, south, east, and west. It is extremely | |diverse in terms of ethnicity, language, and culture. Unfortunately, this magnificent country is not a painting of beauty. Parts of | |Africa have been going through a lot of suffering and poverty. | |Poverty is created by lack of access to jobs, public infrastructure (schools, medical care, etc), and lack of access to food. Many | |African countries are blighted by long running civil wars and corrupt governments, which makes it very difficult to get hold of | |supplies or build the necessary infrastructure. When war is ranging all around it is very difficult for these African people to grow | |their crops, or to continue working in an office, or earn money. Most of the times ordinary life becomes impossible, as people are | |forced to flee their homes. When she went farming sometimes there is not | |enough food so she can only take what is available. She also told me that she was forced to be a rebellion in her country, and if she | |refused they would do something terrible to her. In some parts of Africa, many people live extreme poverty. Rural| |poverty in many areas of Africa has its roots in the colonial system, and the policy and institutional restraints that colonialism | |imposed on poor people. In many transitional economies, the rural situation is marked by continuing stagnation, poor production, low | |incomes and the rising vulnerability of poor people (http://www.ruralpovertyportal.org/english/regions/africa/index.htm). On the | |continent different countries of Africa are affected by warfare. For example, Liberia and Sierra Leone had been in civil war for 12 | |through 15 years. The war corrupted both countries, but now things are getting much better since the new president came in to office. | |For instance, I have...
