Polemic Writing on Celebrity Reality TV Shows
Nowadays, these reality shows should not even be allowed to have the bloody word ‘celebrity’ in front of them. I mean really? There are very few so-called ‘celebrities’ in their reality TV shows, and if they were celebrities, I bet you any money there on here for money. The fact they have come on the show just for cash and to gain their reputation back (obviously their own day job fell through the roof) is just disgusting, repulsive and sordid. An example would be Gemma Collins. She comes onto the show, ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ to find herself; she is not even a bloody celebrity and she has been allowed to come onto the show. Has the show ran out of celebrities, or just ditching their purpose of their show? That leads me onto my second point. These bloody shows have no purpose to them anymore (if they did in the first place!). When these TV shows started to get introduced onto everybody’s screens, it was a mad craze at first; no one had ever seen loads of well-known celebrities into one show and see how they get along with each other. The meaning of these shows have somehow gotten lost and are now about who can get the most views by putting on a show for TV. These shows are not real? Why has these shows become humorous, losing their original meaning. An example would be ‘Celebrity Big Brother’. When it started, people were engrossed in the show’s concept of celebrities living in the house together as it was seemed to be fun and entertaining. Nowadays, most of them are not celebrities and the show has lost its concept of funniness and entertainment; now it is just tedious and unfunny.
